Earlier in March, the MODAPTO consortium gathered in Athens (11–13 March 2025) for its 3rd Technical Meeting, uniting partners from across Europe to address ongoing technical challenges and align on the project’s next steps.
Over the course of three days, discussions centred on Digital Twin (DT) integration, deployment strategies, open-source contributions, and user interface improvements—all essential components for building a smarter, more modular industrial future.
Meeting Highlights
The meeting focused on:
-
Tackling technical challenges related to data flows, API connectivity, and decision support systems
-
Reviewing progress in tool development and their interaction with digital twins
-
Outlining the next steps for implementation, including SME outreach and upcoming event participation
-
Improving UI/UX design for decision support and virtual commissioning
-
Planning for open-source contributions and assessing their industry engagement impact
-
Identifying potential risks and setting a clear action plan for the coming six months
Hands-On Workshops & Coding Sessions
To address specific technical areas, partners took part in three parallel workshops, focusing on analyzing data flows, API connections, and DT interactions.
Open-Source and Industry Engagement
With a view to expanding open-source contributions, the consortium also explored approaches to better engage with the industrial community.
As the project moves forward, attention now turns to the upcoming plenary meeting in Nancy (13–15 May 2025), where efforts will focus on the integration of all system components into a cohesive, interoperable framework.
Stay tuned for more updates as MODAPTO continues to drive the future of modular, intelligent manufacturing.
