Fraunhofer IOSB held MODAPTO’s 4th Plenary Meeting in Karlsruhe from December 3rd to 5th, 2024, which brought together representatives from all collaborating organizations.
Highlights of the First Day
Presentations on Pilot 1 (FFT), which included deployment, analytics, optimization, and innovations like AAS and Digital Twins, opened off the meeting. Virtual commissioning functionality and Demos of tools under development fed the discussion for questions and further scheduling on this Pilot. The day concluded with further presentations on Work Packages 4, 5 and 6 summing up their status.
Highlights of the Second Day
Discussions included monitoring, local and global optimization, co- simulation, predictive maintenance, self-awareness, and possibly local analytics with a focus on Pilots 2 (SEW) and 3 (CRF/ILTAR). This was followed by a discussion on the Modular manufacturing by CRF and the architecture developed by AEGIS and plans on integration as envisioned by ATC and agreed with all partners to proceed in the upcoming months.
The day concluded with a dinner hosted by Fraunhofer in Karlsruhe, providing partners with a casual setting to discuss project-related issues and strengthen their collaborative ties.
Highlights of the Third Day
The third day of the plenary started with a recap of key points discussed in the previous day, recapping key points from the past day. Discussions focused on ensuring that the MODAPTO homepage is accessible and user-friendly and updates on Communication, Dissemination, Exploitation, Liaison, covering SME engagement, and collaboration strategies. Updates included material creation for training and progress on technical components.
Technical, scientific and project coordination sessions highlighted progress and outlined the next steps, the major highlight was the reviewers’ positive feedback, confirming the acceptance of deliverables.
Upcoming meetings include a coding session (Jan 2025), a technical meeting in Athens (March), and a plenary in Nancy (May).
